On September 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, the super middleweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (33-1-1, 24 KOs) will face the undefeated Mexican former world champion, David ” Red Flag ”Benavidez (21-0, 18 knockouts).
Dirrell comes from conquering the supermedia title by defeating the Turkish Avni Yildirim by a technical decision, in a fight in Minnesota, United States.
Benavidez, who already held the WBC crown, reappeared after more than a year of inactivity to technically knock out J’Leon Love.
This match will support the expected clash between the 140-pound champions, Shawn Porter and Errol Spence Jr.
