WBC #1 light flyweight Pedro Guevara (20-2-1, 17 KOs) scored a one-sided twelve round unaimous decision over late sub Jerry Tomogdan (21-8-3, 9 KOs) on Saturday night at the Centro de Usos Multiples, Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Guevara won by scores of 120-110, 120-108, 120-108. Hometown hero Guevara was supposed to face WBC champion Ganigan Lopez on this date, but Lopez pulled out two weeks ago due to a calf injury. Lopez was at ringside and said he’s just waiting for a date to fight Guevara.
In the co-feature, lightweight Jairo “Doberman” Lopez (21-6, 14 KOs) stopped Edgar Puerta (24-9-1, 19 KOs) in round two.
Also, unbeaten super flyweight Karim Arce (8-0, 4 KOs) had to work hard to get past Jairo Gutierrez (2-4, 0 KOs) in a six-rounder.
