DAVAO CITY – Due to the continuing pandemic situation, a fundraising campaign by the boxing community was again held for the second time around, It is headed by Dante Almario, president of the Philippine Boxing Promoters and Managers Association.
The second ‘ayuda’ was also an initiative of the promoters, Managers, Boxing trainers, and fitness Instructors here in Dubai.
Promoter Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Promotion also expresses his gratitude to all the donors and sponsors of this aforementioned Activity.
“The fundraising is for our boxers, trainers, and matchmakers who still have a problem,” said Almario.
The biggest contribution is again the Naris Singwangcha Foundation with P41,662.99.
Aside from the Thai philanthropist, a sack of rice worth 50 kilos each was donated by Gabriel “Bebot’ Elorde Jr, Ace Buhain, Dave Catamora, Darwin Miller Dep-ay, Jose Mortell Lindaya, Orlan Borcelango, Gerry Balmes, Santig, and Almario.
Donations were also given by the Dubai community.
Santig, who is still locked in Dubai, was able to get donations from the community composed mostly of former boxers and fitness instructors. They are Erwin Neri, Venice Dangley, Tony Jaro, Randy Navarro, Paul Watson, Ricky Sismundo, JR Mendoza, and former PABA welterweight champion Jun Paderna.
It will be given on July 10 at the Elorde Sports Complex at St. Rita Village in Paranaque City from 1p.m. to 6 p.m.
