3 Of Alain Ngalani’s Most Spectacular Knockouts

Alain “The Panther” Ngalani has made his mark in ONE Championship with a string of spectacular quick-fire knockout victories, and now, he is looking to replicate that success in ONE Super Series.

The 42-year-old Hong Kong native will return to his kickboxing roots on Saturday, 23 June, when he meets two-time SUPERKOMBAT Heavyweight World Champion Tarik Khbabez at ONE: PINNACLE OF POWER in Macau.

Ahead of this striking showcase at the Studio City Event Center, take a look at the awesome power of Ngalani’s striking. Here are three of his most spectacular finishes – all in the first round.

A Memorable First Impression

Ngalani made an unforgettable first impression.

In September 2013, he made his mixed martial arts debut at ONE: CHAMPIONS & WARRIORS against Egypt’s Mahmoud Hassan, and demonstrated his power and skill in an instant.

The four-time Muay Thai and Kickboxing Heavyweight World Champion quickly found his range, and then unleashed a spectacular spinning back kick that landed right on Hassan’s temple. It sent the Egyptian staggering backward on wobbly legs, and down to the canvas.

Ngalani followed him to the mat, and connected with a few conclusive punches to force the referee to stop the contest just 31 seconds into the match.

It was as decisive as it was spectacular, and it announced “The Panther” as an exciting new threat in the heavyweight division.

A Dominant Display Of Power

The Hong Kong phenom took a step up in competition at ONE: PRIDE OF LIONS in November 2015.

Ngalani faced Igor Subora, who had achieved all five of his mixed martial arts victories by first-round stoppage.

The Ukranian heavyweight came forward aggressively, but as soon as “The Panther” began his attack, he had no reply.

The pressure was overwhelming – kicks followed by punches against the fence – and Subora was subsequently dropped by a huge right hand. Ngalani finished the bout at the 69-second mark with a dominant display of ground and pound.

“The Panther” showcased his immense power once again, and established himself as a fan-favorite all across the globe.

A Record-Setting KO

Ngalani showed off his punching power once again against former ONE Heavyweight World Title challenger Hideki “Shrek” Sekine.

At ONE: TOTAL VICTORY in September 2017, the Japanese grappler knew he needed to avoid his shots, close the distance, and bring “The Panther” to the canvas. With that in mind, the monstrous athlete charged across the cage and immediately tried to tie up Ngalani.

Ngalani, however, expertly sidestepped his bull-rushing opponent, before planting a perfectly-placed right hand to “Shrek’s” jaw. The Japanese heavyweight instantly fell face-first into the canvas.

Following one ground strike, the referee waved off the bout after just 11 seconds. Just like that, “The Panther” set the record for the fastest stoppage victory in the heavyweight division.
