3 OPBF TITLE FIGHTS IN SYDNEY APRIL 8

SYDNEY, Australia (April 8) – Three exciting title fights all in the Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) will be held tonight at the Doltone House in Sylvania Waters, New South Wales here.
“It’s also the first boxing event ever to be held at the prestigious Doltone House,” said promoter John Ioannou of JNI Promotions, who is co-presenting it with Chris Carman of Big Ticket Events Pty Ltd.
OPBF president Juan Ramon Guanzon said the main event will be reigning OPBF welterweight champion Jack “The Ripper” Brubaker (12-1-1, 6 KOs) of Australia defending his title against Filipino challenger Mark “The Slam Man” (22-40-4, 8 KOs), a former World Boxing Federation (WBF) International flyweight champion from Davao City.
The other championship fight also pits two Filipinos against the Aussies.
WBC Eurasia Pacific Boxing Council welterweight champion Sonny “Pinoy Hearns” Katiandagho (11-1-0, 6 KOs) takes on WBA Oceania super lightweight champion Darragh Foley (10-2-0, 7 KOs) for the vacant OPBF Silver super lightweight title while former International Boxing Organization (IBO) Asia Pacific lightweight champion Joel “Jojo” dela Cruz (20-25-3, 8 KOs) faces Australia – New South Wales State welterweight title holder Ben Savva (5-1-0, 1 KO) for the OPBF Silver welterweight crown.
“We’re expecting knockout wins since all fighters are hard punchers,” said Highland Gym promoter-manager Brico Santig.
Aside from fighting at his hometown, the 25-year old Brubaker, a former WBC Youth World welterweight champion also enjoys a four-inch height advantage on Sales.
“Pero hindi problema sa akin yun dahil pag tinamaan ko na siya sa tiyan yuyuko din yan at mabalewala ang kanyang taas sa akin,” said Sales, .
Former Philippine minimumweight champion and Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) light flyweight champion Pedjun “Flash” Villacura (25-30-4, 11 KOs), who is now a resident of Sydney, agreed on Sales’ plan.
“Ganyan ang ginagawa ko noon pag mas matangkad sa akin ang kalaban ko,” said Villacura, a native of Davao City.
