3 Reasons ONE: WARRIOR KINGDOM Is Not To Be Missed

After a highly-successful event in Bangkok, Thailand, ten months ago, ONE Championship returns to the Impact Arena for a stacked night of fights.

On Saturday Night, 11 March, ONE: WARRIOR KINGDOM comes to town consisting of nine explosive matches that are bound to captivate those watching.

While there may be many intriguing storylines to follow, here are three in particular that explain why ONE: WARRIOR KINGDOM you have to catch the event live, on-air, or via pay-per-view via https://onefc.com/livestream/.

#1 An Empowering Women’s Title Fight In The Main Event

Women are finally starting to get a bit of the attention they have long deserved in the world of combat sports, most notably in MMA. Purely on the merit of exciting, skilled fighters proving to doubters that female warriors are just as fierce as their male counterparts.

ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela Lee and Jenny Huang are such two young, phenomenal martial artists on the rise, and headline this action-packed Bangkok card.

At just 20 years of age, Lee has become the youngest MMA World Champion in the sport’s history. She has built a perfect 6-0 record, with five of those wins coming by way of submission.

Her challenger, Huang, is also an undefeated submission specialist, and the 26-year-old is confident she also has the tools to become world champion.

Not only is this contest bound to be an evenly-matched battle, but we have to assume that it very well could be just the first chapter of a budding rivalry between Lee and Huang. Whoever makes the first mistake could get caught in a lightning-quick submission, so don’t blink.

#2 It’s An Incredible Thai Fighter Showcase

Few nations have as proud and accomplished competitive fighting legacies as Saturday Night’s host nation Thailand. Seven out of ONE: WARRIOR KINGDOM’s nine bouts will feature Thai fighters looking to put on a show in front of a partisan Bangkok crowd.

One of the most consistently compelling aspects of ONE’s fight cards are watching hometown heroes fighting to inspire their fellow countrymen alongside international stars. National pride and rivalries often up the stakes, and 11 March will not be any different.

Shannon Wiratchai and Rika Ishige are two such Thai fighters. They are also romantic partners fighting on the same card, which will undoubtedly make the event one neither will ever forget. “OneShin” will attempt to win his fifth consecutive bout and reach the upper echelon of the lightweight division, while “Tinydoll” Ishige will make her professional MMA debut.

Also, it marks the return of former WBA Super Featherweight World Champion Yodsanan “Little Tyson” Sityodong, as well as ex-ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke.

One of Muay Thai’s most decorated world champions Sagetdao Petpayathai will also be making his professional MMA debut.

#3 Amnuaysirichoke and Pacio Fight To Get Back On The Winning Track

Two of the most accomplished strawweights in ONE will face each other this coming Saturday night, both attempting to come back strongly from a crushing title defeat.

The aforementioned Amnuaysirichoke lost his coveted belt to Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito ten months ago at ONE: KINGDOM OF CHAMPIONS in front of his fellow countrymen, while Pacio, who was the number one contender behind Amnuaysirichoke, lost in his quest to dethrone the new champ at ONE: STATE OF WARRIORS last October.

Before the two combatants ran into the Japanese wrecking ball, they were unbeaten. Amnuaysirichoke had six straight wins, while Pacio had eight consecutive wins having finished all those fights.

Now, both men will lock horns, eager to get the bitter taste of defeat out of their mouths, and resume their momentum with the chance for a title rematch. A hard-fought war is sure to ensue.
