4 Amazing Victories From Bangkok’s Superstar Strikers

ONE Super Series has brought an added dimension to ONE Championship events across Asia, as the world’s best strikers showcase their greatness in front of the organization’s global audience.

Muay Thai and kickboxing superstars will get the chance to shine again at ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES when the world’s largest martial arts organization returns to the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Before event night arrives, watch five of the most exciting ONE Super Series victories from the dynamic martial artists who will be appearing on the blockbuster card on Saturday, 6 October.

Kai Ting Chuang’s World-Title Winning Effort

“Killer Bee” Kai Ting Chuang rose to the occasion.

In July, the Chinese striker squared off against multi-time Muay Thai World Champion, and vastly more experienced competitor, Yodcherry Sityodtong in the main event of ONE: BATTLE FOR THE HEAVENS.

Despite having neither the accolades nor the in-ring experience of her rival, Chuang blossomed under the kickboxing rule set.

“Killer Bee” constantly closed the distance so the Thai could not maximize the power of her world-famous roundhouse kicks. Though Yodcherry still threw the roundhouse, the Chinese striker would often catch her leg and dart forward with a lightning-quick boxing combination.

She also used her front kick to cause the Thai to drop her hands and expose herself to a barrage of punches.

Chuang’s strategy propelled her to a victory by unanimous decision, and she claimed the inaugural ONE Kickboxing Atomweight World Title.

The 23-year-old will make her first defense against Stamp Fairtex in the co-main event of ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES.

Nong-O Gaiyanhadao Against Fabio Pinca

In the global striking league’s grand premiere in April at ONE: HEROES OF HONOR, Thailand’s Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and France’s Fabio Pinca served up a glittering display of Muay Thai excellence.

The two athletes went back and forth for three rounds with Pinca pushing the pace, but the four-time Lumpinee Stadium World Champion countered clinically and decisively.

It was Nong-O’s dominance in most of the exchanges – including two perfectly-executed leg sweeps that sent the Radjamnern Stadium World Champion to the canvas – that influenced the judges’ decision.

The Thai hero claimed a unanimous decision win, and the 256th victory of his decorated career.

Next for 31-year-old veteran is a bout with ISKA and WBC World Champion Mehdi Zatout in Bangkok.

Singtongnoi Por Telakun’s Blitz Of Joseph Lasiri

Singtongnoi Por Telakun is experiencing a career renaissance in ONE Super Series.

After beating cancer, the Muay Thai legend made his return to the ring at ONE: UNSTOPPABLE DREAMSagainst Italy’s Joseph “Hurricane” Lasiri in May.

Roared on by a passionate crowd in his adopted home of Singapore, the Evolve representative pushed the pace and produced a high-energy performance that Lasiri had no answer for.

Singtongnoi dropped “Hurricane” twice in the opening round, and then loaded up in the second frame.

He attacked the Italian with a barrage of strikes, which ultimately forced the TKO stoppage in round two.

There is still plenty of gas left in the tank for the 38-year-old, and he will look to prove that once more in his homeland when he meets RISE Featherweight Champion Masahide Kudo on 6 October.

Petchdam Kaiyanghadao Knocking Out Josh Tonna

WBC Muay Thai World Champion Petchdam Kaiyanghadao’s debut was one to remember, as the 20-year-old delivered a highlight-reel knockout at ONE: PURSUIT OF POWER in July.

The Thai’s opponent, WMC Intercontinental Champion Josh “Timebomb” Tonna, started out as the more aggressive athlete, but he was soon on the receiving end of rapid-fire kicks.

Petchdam’s approach contrasted with Tonna’s predominantly boxing-based style, which produced a thrilling contest as both men loaded up and aimed to land a bout-ending knockout blow.

Eventually, the pink-haired warrior worked out his adversary’s timing and connected with a huge roundhouse kick to the body. The Thai’s shin landed flush on Tonna’s midsection, and his knee also connected with his foe’s tucked chin, which sent the Aussie crashing to the canvas.

Petchdam will look to score another highlight-reel knockout when he faces K1 Commonwealth Champion Kenny Tse in Bangkok.
