4 Highlight Reel KOs From The Stars Of ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES

There is no shortage of knockout artists competing in Indonesia next weekend.

On Saturday, 22 September, the world’s largest martial arts organization will take over the Jakarta Convention Center with ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES.

This stacked card, which will be headlined by a ONE Strawweight World Title rematch between Japanese titleholder Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito (13-1) and Filipino challenger Joshua “The Passion” Pacio (12-2), will also feature appearances from Muay Thai, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts stars who are known for delivering highlight-reel knockouts.

Now, with little more than a week to go until event night, relive these four incredible knockouts from the stars of ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES.

Joshua Pacio Flattens Roy Doliguez

There are dozens of different ways to win by knockout, but few are quite as dazzling as the spinning back-fist.

At ONE: LEGENDS OF THE WORLD in November 2017, Pacio collided with fellow former ONE World Title challenger Roy Doliguez, and authored this jaw-dropping knockout.

Following an intense first round that unfolded mostly on the canvas, the Team Lakay product put an abrupt end to the all-Filipino affair 38 seconds into the second frame.

He threw a kick to Doliguez’s lead leg, and then immediately spun around with a back fist, which landed cleanly on his adversary’s chin to end matters early.

Pacio will look for another highlight-reel finish when he steps into the cage for his main-event rematch with Naito next Saturday.

Timofey Nastyukhin’s 6-Second Stunner

Russian lightweight Timofey Nastyukhin (12-3) has shown time and time again that he is capable of producing some truly incredible knockout victories.

One of the most impressive KOs on his resume occurred in May 2016, when he battled Australian hard-hitter Rob Lisita at ONE: KINGDOM OF CHAMPIONS.

As soon as the opening bell rang, Lisita pressed forward. Nastyukhin threw a cross, followed by a comet-like left hook, which instantly dropped the Aussie.

The bout only lasted six seconds, which tied the record for the fastest knockout in the promotion’s history.

At ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES, the Russian will look for another beautiful knockout when he takes onSaygid Guseyn Arslanaliev (5-1).

Jomary Torres’ Thunderous Slam

In January, at ONE: GLOBAL SUPERHEROES, Jomary Torres (4-0) looked to keep her perfect record intact against Team Lakay’s April Osenio. In the end, “The Zamboanginian Fighter” accomplished this feat, and a whole lot more.

Early in the first round of this all-Filipina atomweight contest, Torres was able to take the Team Lakay product down and wound up in her foe’s guard. Showing plenty of veteran craftiness, Osenio threatened with an armbar from the bottom position.

Unfortunately for her, “The Zamboanginian Fighter” responded with incredible ferocity. She hoisted her rival into the air, and then slammed her to the canvas, with the impact instantly knocking the wind out of Osenio.

At just 40 seconds, it was the fastest knockout and finish in ONE’s women’s history at the time (the record would be broken a month later by Myanmar’s Bozhena Antoniyar).

Torres will attempt to keep her undefeated streak going in Jakarta, when she battles homegrown hero Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol.

Peng Xue Wen KOs Eddey Kalai

Chinese National Greco-Roman Wrestling Champion Peng Xue Wen (5-4-0) is known for his world-class grappling, yet at ONE: BATTLE FOR THE HEAVENS in July, he proved there is a whole lot more to his game than just wrestling.

He battled tough Malaysian strawweight Eddey “The Clown” Kalai at the show. The contest began with both warriors carefully measuring distance with jabs and low kicks.

The action went from zero to 100 quickly, as the Chinese star faked with a left, and then bounced forward with a massive right cross, which sent his opponent to the mat. A few follow-up ground strikes later, and the deed was done.

Peng will look for another big win at ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES. He has been tasked with facing Indonesian martial arts hero Stefer Rahardian (9-1), who has never lost in Jakarta.
