COMEBACKING Engelbert “Aguila” Moralde of Davao City will be fighting against Mexican Kenbun Torres on December 11 at the L-Theatre in Osaka, Japan.

Moralde, who has a record of 9 wins with 6 knockouts against only 3 losses, has already started his training in Davao and has continued it this week at the Sanman Gym in General Santos City.

“He’s been doing mitts and light training already with his older brother in Davao. Pero, next week sa Gensan na siya mag training,” said manager Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil chief executive officer of the Sanman Promotions.

The 24-year old Moralde is fresh from a unanimous decision win against veteran Jun Eraham last September 10 at the Tupi Municipal gym in Tupi, South Cotabato.

“This is a good oppurtunity for Engelbert Moralde. (I think) this is a winnable fight for him,” said Manangquil.

Torres, who is based in Japan, is coming from an eight year lay-off.

“He just had a one round after the lay-off,” said Manangquil.

Moralde also had a long lay-off in 2015 after winning all his three fights by knockouts in 2014.

Moralde first knocked out Randy Gomez at the Oval Plaza in Gensan on February 22, 2014. He then stopped Nicardo Calamba on June 25 in Maco, Compostela Valley Province. Moralde then pummelled to submission Paul Apolinario on September 9 in Polomolok.

After one year of inactivity, Moralde made a comeback but suffered the consequence of being not well-prepared to fight as he lost by a split decision to Joy Joy Formentera (6-1-0) on September 26, 2015 at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in Gensan.

“Magaling talaga si Engelbert kapag kumpleto ang ensayo nya,” said Manangquil, who is now flying to the United States together with Sanman secretary Ramon Falgui for the second outing of undefeated Harmonito “Hammer” dela Torre next month.

Manangquil and Falgui will also watch the comeback fight of Senator Manny Pacquial against WBO World welterweight champion Jessie Vargas on Saturday at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
