In four months, the UFC will return to Abu Dhabi for a pay-per-view event that’s expected to feature lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov defending his title against interim champ Dustin Poirier.

In a tweet posted on Sunday, MMA Team Dagestan listed some other notable fighters who are expected to be on the card, including Khabib’s AKA teammate Islam Makhachev and hard-hitting striker Mairbek Taisumov.View image on Twitter

Conor McGregor caught wind of this tweet and on Monday, quote tweeted it and didn’t hold back his thoughts on these fighters, particularly whipping out the drug test history of three of them.

“Team Meldonium,” McGregor wrote.

“3 on this list caught on performance enhancers in the past already.

“Islam, Zubaira and Mairbek.

“Dirty smelly rats all of them.”

We had to do a screenshot of his tweet, because he wound up pressing the delete button later in the day.

Makhachev did test positive for meldonuium, but USADA gave him a finding of no-fault and thus no suspension. Tukhugov had a two-year sanction for ostarine back in 2016, while Taisumov received six months from USADA for stanozolol ingested through a contaminated supplement.

Neither Khabib nor Abubakar Nurmagomedov has ever failed a drug test.

McGregor has an intense rivalry with Khabib, which finally resulted in them fighting each other at UFC 229 in October. Khabib won by fourth-round neck crank, then a riot broke out and resulted in the suspensions of both fighters, as well as Abubakar and Tukhugov.

Despite his want of a rematch with Khabib, McGregor’s next fight is not booked. He is currently awaiting trial after smashing a man’s phone in Florida back in March, and he’s also reportedly under investigation for an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Dublin, Ireland late last year.
