Veteran Thai man of boxing Naris Singwancha, president of the Asian Boxing Federation (ABF), has affiliated himself and his Asian boxing sanctioning body to the International Boxing Organization (IBO).

The appointment became real through official “IBO Letter of Affiliation” addressed to Naris Singwancha, written and signed by IBO president Edward S. Levine.

“The President of the International Boxing Organization (IBO) Edward S. Levine, does hereby confirm that the honorable and respected Mr. Naris Singwancha has been approved and confirmed as an affiliated member in good standing of the IBO and is therefore entitled to engage the IBO in promotion of world title events as well as regional titles in the Asia-Pacific region,” says the official Letter of Affiliation in its first paragraph.

Mr. Levine goes on to express his appreciation for Mr. Singwancha’s work in supporting boxing activities throughout his Asia Pacific region.

“The president of the IBO would like to express his thanks and high appreciation for the professionalism and fine reputation for the work implemented by Mr. Singwancha for the benefit of professional boxing in his region.

“The IBO will devote all its efforts to cooperate hand in hand with the events promoted by Mr. Singwancha.”

Levine ends up saying: “on behalf of the IBO, I would like to thank you for the support and participation in great boxing occasions taking place in the Philippines, Thailand, Macau, and Hong Kong, and I am looking forward to the success of our common cause.”

The International Boxing Organization (IBO) is a non-profit organization that sanctions professional boxing matches and awards world and regional championships.  It was founded in 1988 and incorporated in Illinois, though since 1996 the IBO has been headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida.

Edward S. Levine continues to serve as the organization’s president since 1999.

One of the principles of the IBO that boxing fans applaud is that the IBO permits only one champion per weight class.

In addition, some marquee champions who have held IBO world titles include:

Tommy Hearns, Vinny Pazienza, Roy Jones, Jr., Marco Antonio Barrera, Manny Pacquiao, Bernard Hopkins, Gennady Golovkin, Sergio Martínez, Floyd Mayweather, Jr., Ricky Hatton, “Prince” Naseem Hamed, Wladimir Klitschko, and the current heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua.
