British Luke Campbell and the Ukrainian Vasiliy Lomachenko will fight for the lightweight title of the World Boxing Council, on August 31, at the O2 Arena, venue in which both warriors managed to win gold medals during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Lomachenko will arrive to this match with a 13-1 and 10 knockouts, while Campbell will do so with 20-2 and 16 knockouts.
“This is going to be an incredible fight. I am in this sport to be the best and to become a world champion. It`s precisely for this that I train and work so hard. Lomachenko is one of the very best, so fighting with such a guy just encourages me to do my absolute best to reach my highest level.”
“This is a historic fight because my goal is to unify all the belts in the lightweight division. Luke Campbell is the next challenge for me on this trip. He is an excellent fighter that I remember well from the 2012 Olympic Games. He has a difficult style, and I cannot afford to be overconfident,” stressed Lomachenko.
The contest will be transmitted through ESPN.
