Still undefeated in the UFC, Hall (8-1) will look for his fifth straight in the Octagon, after already defeating Artem Lobov, Gray Maynard, B.J. Penn and most recently, back in July 2019, Darren Elkins. The 35-year-old’s last and sole loss happened in his MMA debut, back in April 2006.
Hall has famously been trying (and failing) to get for a ranked opponent since his last victory, with the tricky jiujitsu star stating that fighters have been constantly turning him down.
In his last outing, Lamas (19-8) was knocked out in the first round by Calvin Kattar back in June 2019. The loss came right after a November 2018 TKO victory over fellow veteran Darren Elkins, making this the 37-year-old’s only win in the past three years. Before beating Elkins, Lamas was also bested by both Mirsad Bektic and Josh Emmett.
Now, Lamas is expected to take on Hall at UFC Fight Night 174, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on May 2. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a middleweight bout between former champion Chris Weidman and top contender Jack Hermansson.
