Undefeated NABF flyweight champion Kim Clavel, recognized for her work as a nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic, will return to the ring at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas tomorrow to face undefeated Natalie Gonzalez.

Undefeated Clavel was ready to defend her NABF title on March 21, but her fight had to be called off due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Not only were sporting events canceled, but Kim bravely faced the pandemic while doing her nursing job.

“I had a fight scheduled for March 21 that was canceled. About a week later, I realized that boxing was out for some time. Being a nurse and having a degree to work in a hospital, my path was clear. There were recruitment announcements in Canada to work in the area where there were the most infections, so it was obvious, I did my part. The unknown was the most difficult part. From one day to the next.

“Doctors, nurses, workers, patients, and everyone learned something new every day. Most of the time I was alone, helping about 30 people on one floor. In my previous experiences, I worked with mothers who gave birth, people with pneumonia, gastroenteritis, a broken arm, a wound. But COVID-19 and watching some people die is something you never get used to. We live in difficult times, but we must always be positive. It`s good to return to the ring and I am ready for a great fight,” Kim said in an interview with Forbes.
