Finally, the long-awaited clash between the super lightweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Jose Carlos Ramírez and the Ukrainian former world champion Viktor Postol, will take place on August 29 in the Bubble of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show had to be postponed again and again, but both warriors are motivated to finally return to the ring.
Ramirez (25-0, 17 KOs), 27, of Avenal, California, unified two 140-pound world titles by knockout in the sixth round over Maurice Hooker on July 27 last year.
For his part, Postol (31-2, 12 KOs), 36, beat Mohamed Mimoune in Las Vegas on April 27 last year in an eliminatory bout.
Ramírez and Postol, showing their great commitment and professionalism, sent their 30-day pre-weigh-ins to the WBC, demonstrating that they are in superb condition. Jose Carlos registered 153 pounds, while Postol was 147.
