A couple of minutes into the very first round, Filipino pride John Leo Dato showed his mighty power as he unloaded a barrage of fists to knock out Mexican Angel Guevarra to add another win to his perfect 15-win record with no losses at the Rosarito Beach, Mexico on Friday, August 29 Philippine time.

The 27-year-old Filipino prodigy from Bangar, La Union was scheduled to fight on April 3 of this year but was cancelled due the pandemic. He then continued his training while opening his own boxing gym at his Sta. Maria, California place.

Dato fights in three different divisions and had won in all his professional fights in the featherweight, super featherweight, and lightweight categories. He is currently in the lightweight lane wherein pro boxers like Vasily Lomachenko, Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia, Luke Campbell, and many more are known to be at their best.

He had been an undercard at the Manny Pacquiao versus Keith Thurman fight at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas on July 20 last year where he knocked out another Mexican, Juan Antonio Lopez.

At press time, this Filipino phenom is back at his Sta Maria hometown checking in on his students and team.
