Unbeaten Mexican slugger Luis “Pantera” Nery becomes the new WBC Super Bantamweight World Champion by scoring a well-deserved 12-round unanimous decision victory over game compatriot Aaron Alameda (25-1, 13 KO’s) today at the Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino in Connecticut, USA.
The more aggressive Nery (31-0, 24 KO’s) made more than enough to secure his triumph, landing more often and with more power over the skilled Alameda who stood his ground against one of the meanest sluggers in the 122 division.
Scores were 115-113, 116-112, 118-110, all in favor of the winner Luis “Pantera” Nery, 25, who captures a world title in a second division.
Fans now would love to see “Pantera” Nery against fellow Mexican knockout artist Brandon Figueroa (20-0-1, 16 KO’s) of Texas who tonight stopped in 10 chapters Damien Vasquez (15-2-1, 8 KO’s) to retain his WBA Super Bantamweight Belt.
An all-Mexican civil war of Luis Nery vs Brandon Figueroa would be a unification WBA/WBC dream 122-pound fight, hopefully for 2021.
The show tonight at the Mohegan Sun Resort was a promotion of Premier Boxing Champions, live on Showtime PPV.
