Kickboxer trainer cremated after he died of COVID-19 aided stroke

A KICKBOXER trainer who died after suffering a stroke and tested positive on coronavirus disease was cremated last Oct. 2 in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Manuel Sanidad, who trained athletes of the Samahan ng Kickboxing ng Pilipinas to three golds, two silvers, and one bronze medals in the South East Games in Manila last year died last Thursday after 11 days of confinement at the Benguet General Hospital here.

The cremation was brought by his girlfriend Marites Denlaoso to La Bawang in his daughter Regal Sanidad last Oct. 4. His family is now waiting for the donation from the Philippine Sports Commission.

“Nagbigay din kami ng donation para sa expenses at cremation,” said Brico Santig, owner of Highland Boxing Promotion,

The donation came from Singwangcha Foundation, Team Lakay-SKP, Mark Sangiao, Malayan Kanfu member and Directors, Wilbur Andogan, Darwin Miller, Mario Antero, Ricky Inggala, Susan Macaraeg, Benget General Hospital and Highland Gym.

Santig and the rest of his coaches were staying at the Highland Gym together with Sanidad, who was taking refresh kickboxing techniques.

Santig and the coaches were later had a swab test and declared negative. They are now back to the Highland Gym at Km. 6.
