Mangubat to make a big comeback

DAVAO CITY – Featherweight Tomjune “War Dog” Mangubat (11W-2L-1D, 9KO) of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon will make a big comeback on Dec. 18 at 1 p.m. at the IPI Complex in Mandaue City.

He will face orthodox Reymond Empic (7W-5L-0D, 3KO) of Cebu.

The 23-year old Mangubat won by a unanimous decision over Joffrey Garcia of Albay last July 6, 2019, in Liloan.

He earlier suffered a technical knockout in the 8th round against Arnel Baconaje of Iloilo last April 5 for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver featherweight title in Mandaue.

Mangubat also bowed to Jong Seon Kang of South Korea by a split decision last Nov. 3 for the vacant WBO Oriental Youth featherweight title in District 7 Arena, Ho Chi Minh City.

Empic, on the other hand, won by a TKO in the 3rd round against Romnick Magos of Negros Oriental last May 27, 2019, in Candijay,

The 27-year old Empic recently lost by a TKO to Rolando Servania of Bacolod by a 5th round last Feb. 29 at the Lagao Gym in Gen. Santos City.
