Flyweight Muhammad “Falcon” Waseem of Pakistan beat Jeny Boy Boca of Bukidnon by a technical knockout in the 8th round in a “controversial style” last Dec. 19 at the Governor’s House in Pakistan.

Waseem and Boca were trading with punches in every round until Waseem suffered a nasty cut on the left eye in the 6th round.

The referee check on Waseem’s cut but was allowed to continue.

Blood continued to drop in the 7th round as Boca was able to find a range until they were stopped in the 8th round.

Boca was surprised and questioned the referee for stopping the fight even though he was not hurt.

“Nasangit lang ang akong kamot kay isumbag man unta nako wala nadayon kay nasabit man”

(My hand just hurt because I would have punched it but it didn’t work because it was stuck)said Boca, who arrived already in Manila and is presently at the quarantine area in Sogo Hotel.

Waseem was declared the winner by the referee after Boca turned around because he caught his hand inside the rope in the 8th round.

Boca was only preparing his hand that is why he turned around. But the referee immediately announced Waseem as the winner.

“Giundang dayon sa refere, suko gani me,” (The referee immediately stopped. We were angry), said Coach Allan Alegria, who acted as second of Boca during the fight.

Boca, who is the World Boxing Association Asia flyweight champion suffered his seventh loss against 14 wins while Waseem improved his record to 11 wins with eight knockouts against one loss.

They had a problem with the food and they were not given a chance to buy their own food. The following day (Dec. 20), Boca and Alegria were waiting for their transportation to the airport.

It was one hour left already that is why they had to do something.

They were forced to hire inside the hotel to bring them to the airport. And luckily, they were allowed to enter the plane despite having no boarding pass.

The boarding pass arrived late so the plane was waiting for Boca and Alegria.

It was only Alegria who got the swab test and Boca had none. He was only allowed for humanitarian reasons.

Boca and Alegria arrived in Manila on Dec. 21 and are in quarantine area.

The boxing event in Pakistan was promoted by Amir Khan of AK Promotion.
