DAVAO CITY – Former world-rated Toto “Muscovado” Landero of Negros Occidental cannot leave the country and go to Indonesia for they still need a visa due to the pandemic situation.
The 25-year-old Landero and his trainer-coach Jun Arlos failed to leave the airport today after the immigration asked for their visa.
They were supposed to fly to Indonesia in Jakarta to fight Tibo “Ilduce” Monabesa (20W-1L-2D, 8KOs) of Indonesia on April 2 for the vacant World Boxing Council International Lightweight title.
“Kaninang umaga po sa airport kami pero ayaw nga pumayag ng immigration kasi wala daw kami visa kailangan daw eh dahil sa pandemic (This morning we were at the airport but didn’t want to consent to immigration because we didn’t have a visa because of the pandemic),” said Landero.
Indonesian promoter Armin Tan is now working for the visa of Landero and Arlos.
“Inaayos pa po daw ng promoter nang Indonesia yung visa po namin (The Indonesian promoter is still arranging our visa),” said Landero.
Landero and Arlos are now back to Paranaque City to wait for the immigration’s report.
“Bukas pa po malaman sir (Tomorrow I will find out sir),” said Landero (11W-4L-2D, 2KOs).
His last fight was a victory against Joel Lino of Davao City, who was lost by unanimous decision last Sept. 7, 2019 in Taguig City
