Former champion Jeison Rosario is eager to step into the ring again, facing contender Erickson “Hammer” Lubin in a World Boxing Council super welterweight eliminator, where the WBC Silver title will also be at stake.
Rosario (20-2-1, 14 KOs) is looking to bounce back from his last fight when he was defeated by Jermell Charlo in their unification bout in September 2020.
Lubin (23-1, 16 KOs) also suffered a knockout loss to Charlo in 2017. He has since racked up a five-fight winning streak.
The winner of this important fight will be one step away from getting the opportunity to face Charlo again.
Rosario, who made changes to his work team, commented:
“I do not make excuses for the loss with Charlo, but that was then and this is now. I have turned a new page in my career with my new coach Herman Caicedo. I will not lose again, especially in this fight against Lubin. He’s a great contender and I respect his abilities, but I’m sure I’ll knock him out on June 26.”
The fight will take place on Saturday, June 26 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
