Mexican Ibeth ‘Roca’ Zamora will defend her World Boxing Council flyweight title on June 19 against United States Olympic medalist, Marlen Esparza in Houston, Texas. Former world champion Jaime Munguía will be starring this card facing Polish Maciej Sulecki.

“I am very excited to be defending my title against Marlen Esparza,” said Ibeth Zamora.

“It will be my first time-fighting in the United States, so I feel it is a great opportunity to show everyone what I am capable and willing to fight in the most important venues. I am proud to bring my title to the US and defend it against an experienced fighter like Esparza. I am sure that my skills will help me to get the victory. I will show everyone why I am the current WBC flyweight champion and the best in the division, ” ‘ Roca ’ stated.

“I want to thank the WBC for the opportunity to fight for the world championship. It has been always my dream to represent the WBC. I want people to see a great fight. I am proud to be back against a great fighter. I know there are a limited number of important fights coming soon for women’s boxing, and therefore it is an honor to have this chance. I am training hard and I am going to bring my best. I can’t wait to fight ”, commented Esparza.

Zamora is a two-division champion. She conquered the WBC light flyweight crown a couple of years ago and now she is the current flyweight champion. She is one of the best women fighters of today. She has a record of 32-6 with 12 knockouts. While Esparza has 9-1 with 1 knockout record. Her only loss was against current world champion Seniesa Estrada.
