Welterweight James Bacon of Mandaue City did not bring home the bacon.

He was stopped in the 2nd round by Alexis “Lex” Rocha of USA last June 19 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.

Rocha first knockdown Bacon with a right on the head. Bacon stood up and fight again. But Rocha then threw a right again on the head that almost threw Bacon out of the ring.

It was the 11th knockout in 17 wins by Rocha against one loss. Bacon suffered his fifth loss against 26 wins.

Rocha earlier lost by a unanimous decision to Rashidi Ellis in the vacant WBC International welterweight title last Oct. 30, 2020, in Indio.

Meanwhile, Marlen Esparza of the USA took away the WBC World female flyweight title over Ibeth Zamora Silva of Mexico by a unanimous decision.

Esparza was even downed in Round one.

Mexican Jaime Munguia retired Kamil Szeremeta of Poland in the 6th round to keep the WBO Inter-Continental middleweight title.

Gabriel Rosado of USA knockout Bektemir Melikuziev of Uzbekistan in the 3rd round to win WBA Continental Americas and vacant WBO International super middle titles.
