Unbeaten Ukranian WBA Flyweight World Champion 馃嚭馃嚘馃嚘馃嚥 Artem Dalakian (20-0, 14 KO’s), and his challenger hard-hitting former champ 馃嚨馃嚘 Luis “El Nica” Concepci贸n of Panama made identical weight of 111 1/4 lbs., (50.46 kilos) ahead of their world title battle tomorrow, Saturday November 20, at the AKKO International Exhibition Center in Kiev, Ukraine.
Both power-punching fighters looked absolutely fit, confident, and more than willing to engage in one heck of a rumble that could end by stoppage, but who would stop who?
The clash is Dalakian’s 5th defense of the WBA black ‘n golden strap he conquered back in February of 2018 at The Forum in Inglewood, California; being right now the goal in his mind to unify the division, becoming undisputed champion of Flyweight division, a desire shared by his promoter Yuriy Rusban, president of Ukraine’s Union Boxing, the fighting outfit producing tomorrow’s exciting event.
Meanwhile, the WBA # 1 Mandatory Challenger Luis “Nica” Concepcion (39-8, 28 KO’s) of Panama – the veteran warrior known for his fan-friendly coming-forward fighting style – aims to regain the world marvel that once belonged to him, will he make it?
“El Nica” collides tomorrow against Dalakian after demolishing tough Colombian Rober Barrera (23-3, 13 KO’s) for a round 11 TKO win, claiming the WBA “Interim” Flyweight crown.
However, all interim titles have recently ceased to exist at the WBA, the pioneering sanctioning body celebrating 100 year of boxing history.
Then, the question now on fans’ minds is who will pull off the win tomorrow night in Ukraine, land of boxing super stars Vasil Lomachenko and Oleksandr Usyk?
Will the winner be the unbeaten, hometown defending, hard-punching world champion?
Or will it be the visiting veteran glory-hungry coming-forward warrior who packs serious power in both fists?
We’ll have to find out.
Artem Dalakian vs Luis “El Nica” Concepci贸n can be seen live in Latin Am茅rica on ESPN Knockout, in Panama on RPC TV Canal 4, and in Ukraine and Eastern Europe on MEGOGO TV.
The show starts at 7 PM, the main event fires up at 9 PM in Kiev (Eastern European Time UTC +2)
May the Best Man Win!
