Amir Khan vs Kell Brook will finally happen for British boxing fans on February 19 at the famed 21,000-capacity Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Many fans thought that they – two of the most popular welterweights in England – would never fight.
But they will, and which of the two veteran former champs will emerge victorious?
An interesting presscon was held in today Monday, Nov 29, in England, announcing the much-awaited – although perhaps a bit late battle, which will likely be the very last fight for the loser, and perhaps a much-needed career revival for the winner.
It is known by English fans that the 39-year-old Amir Khan (34-5, 21 KO’s)) and “The Special One” Kell Brook (39-3, 27 KO’s) of 35 years-of-age, do not like much each other. Maybe they have envied each other’s popularity or achievements, who knows.
Fans were able to see that dislike for each other during the press conference, jabbing insults at each other during the televised press event, a reason for which their 12-rounder might be a thrilling affair, let’s hope so.
One thing is undeniable, which is that the two men has fought some of the best fighters in the world today; and winning or losing they have shown fighting skills as well as huge popularity, especially in the UK.
Brook’s three tough defeats in his 42-fight pro boxing career have been against three reigning world champions Terence Crawford, Erol Spence and Gennady Golovkin, and how many boxers can say that? Meanwhile Amir Khan has been stopped also by Crawford, Danny Garcia and by King Canelo, this last stoppage a very, very explosive one-punch KO in Las Vegas.
Khan vs Brook is being promoted by Benjamin Shalom’s Ultimate Boxxer, live on Sky Box Office.
Let’s wait for Saturday, Feb 19, to find out who comes on top, but who do you think will win..??
May the best man win!
