Hiroto Kyoguchi vs Esteban Bermúdez for WBA-108 Súper Title Jan 15 in México

Unbeaten Japanese WBA-108 (Super) World Champion Hiroto Kyoguchi will travel all the way to Mexico to battle tough Mexican WBA-108 (Regular) champ Esteban Bermúdez, an interesting clash of civilisations and leather set for January 15.

The war in Mexican territory will define the one and only World Boxing Association champion in the light flyweight (108 lbs) division.

After the clash was ordered by the WBA, a satisfactory agreement between the Japanese and the Mexican camps was reached, avoiding the process of purse bidding.

However, the venue for the rumble is still being worked out, and will be announced in due time.

For the 28-year-old “Super Champion” Kyoguchi (15-0, 10 KO’s) from Osaka, known in Japan as “Dynamite Boy,” an effective, fast and smart warrior who has already been a 2-division world champion, the battle will be the 4th title defence of the crown he conquered by stopping in 10 chapters skilled South African king Hekkie Butler 3 years ago in Macao.

Kyoguchi trade blows against Bermudez next.

But talented Japanese is no stranger to exchanging heavy bombs against determined Mexican warriors, having already defeated two of them:

Jose Argumedo, whom he outclassed back in 2017, and most recently Axel Aragón Vega, whom Kyoguchi overpowered and stopped in 5 rounds last March in Dallas.

Will the 26-year-old Esteban Bermudez be the 3rd Aztec warrior in Hiroto Kyoguchi’s list of scalps?

On January 15, we’ll find out.

Meanwhile, the Mexican WBA “Régular Champion” Bermúdez (14-3-2, 10 KO’s) from the City of Neza in the State of México, will collide against Kyoguchi in his first fight after he unexpectedly punished and dethroned Venezuelan slugger Carlos Cañizales (22-1-1, 17 KO’s), whom Bermúdez stopped in 6 rounds last May in Ciudad de México.

Cañizales was the favourite among bookies and betting fans to ravage and dismantle Bermudez.

But that was far from happening. It was the underdog Bermudez the one who controles, stalked and tormented the heavy-handed Cañizales till his demise.

Will Kyoguchi suffer the same fate?

In about 1 month we’ll know. Happy trip, Hiroto Kyoguchi, to the boxing-loving great Land of México, and May the Best Man Win
