Mexican former world champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez (42-0, 28 KOs), will collide against dangerous Cuban Yunieski González (21-3, 17 KOs) in a WBA-175 elimination this Saturday, Dec 18, at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The fight, promoted by Oscar de la Hoya’s Gold en Boy Promotions, airs live worldwide on DAZN.

Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez (“zurdo” means “southpaw”), is willing to put his undefeated record on the line to demonstrate and make clear that he is the best at 175 pounds, better than unbeaten Russian world champions Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. Is he?

So this WBA light heavyweight eliminator would open the gate for “Zurdo” to a shot at the world title. If he wins.

After spectacularly knocking out Cuban Sullivan Barrera last July, “Zurdo” Ramírez wants to challenge this other thought Cuban, Yunieski González. But be careful what you wish for…

The native Mazatlán in awesome México, is not only determined to keep his undefeated record intact, but to elevated to a fantastic 43-0 mark. With 28 knockouts. Not bad.

“Dmitry Bivol did not want to sign the fight contract to defend his title against me. Sure he is afraid to fight me so he went to Russia to defend belt there.

“Then, Yunieski Gonzalez stepped forward to fight me; I have to respect him for that.

“He knows this is a great opportunity for him. He comes well-prepared to give everything and I have to be prepared for him.

Yunieski is a fighter who represents Miami, but is originally from Pinar Del Río in the great island-nation of Cuba

The islander has had a successful career in light heavyweights.

The Cuban has been very active between 2020 and 2021, facing and defeating Guillermo Romero, Alex Theran and Tommy Karpency consecutively by Knockout.

Yunieski GONZALEZ, a warrior with very heavy hands, has been looking for a world title shot.
