“Fighting in Mexican territory is a matter of absolute pride for me,” says unbeaten 19-year-old American Flyweight girl Gabriela Fundora.
Guided in her young career by experienced Las Vegas man of boxing Sampson Lewkowicz, the promising Gabriela Fundora (5-0, 2 KO’s) of Coachella, California, feels nothing else but so much love and passion for boxing, same as her whole family; and fighting in Mexico is each time a thrill for the 5’ 9” talented girl.
Tough-as-nails, Gabriela is younger sister of hard-swinging world-ranked 6’ 5” super welterweight contender Sebastian Fundora (18-0-1, 12 KO’s), from whom Gabriela receives so much inspiration.
As fans can imagine, she also gets a whole bunch of useful boxing tips from her big brother.
That’s probably why the fast-rising Gabriela loves the fighting ring that much; plus, her dad is her coach.
In her last fight a month ago in the boxing-loving country of Panama, Gabriela Fundora claimed the WBC Latino Flyweight Belt with a win over Panamanian former world-title challenger Nataly Delgado. But Gabriela aims to so much more.
Coming next, Gabriela – whose mom hails from Ciudad de México – is so willing to travel to the land of Canelo to give Mexican fans a thrilling war when she trades heavy artillery against the very tough battling lady from Chiconcuac Judith “La Peligrosa” Rodríguez.
The entertaining clash of Gabriela Fundora vs Erika Rodríguez adds fire to the exciting evening of boxing organised by Luis Andrade’s Noches de Box de LC Promotions this coming Saturday, February 26, at the Deportivo Metropolitano in Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, México.
In the show’s main event, undefeated René “El Indio” Calixto (16-0, 6 KO’s) of Acapulco fights laser-focussed southpaw “Mandibulín” Rogelio Romero García (14-5, 7 KO’s) of Tlaxcala for the WBA Fedecentro Super Flyweight Belt.
Plus, as special attraction, cute & popular 25-year-old Jacky Calvo Ramírez (14-7-2, 1 KO) of Ciudad de México will also see hot action in the Flyweight division against Aguascalientes fighting woman María Martínez Sandoval.
Amateur rumbles start at 4 PM. Pro fights kick off at 6 PM.
