Thailand’s unbeaten WBA Minimumweight Super Champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong (24-0, 9 KO’s) outclassed and dominated former long-time WBC ruler Wanheng Meenayothin (55-3, 19 KO’s) for a wide unanimous decision win to retain his black & golden super belt today, Wednesday July 20, in Chonburi, Kingdom of Thailand.

As widely expected, a highly tactical battle unfolded at a mid-distance with both starry warriors landing and defending with skills and speed.

Matters heated up during the final stanzas of the clash, although it was Niyomtrong the one prevailing in most of the skirmishes, not letting go his command of the action.

As a result, scores were wide 117-111, 119-109 and 116-112 in favor of Niyomtrong, the fighter from Surin in northeaster Thailand, also known here as “Knockout CP Freshmart.”

There were no knockdowns, nor cuts, and no points deducted in a clean contest handled with ease by WBA veteran referee Pinit Prayadsab,

The win was another successful defense for the 31-year-old Niyomtrong, arguably the # 1 Minimumweight fighter in the planet.

Niyomtrong’s last 16 fights have been wins of WBA 105 belt on the line. Titlist since 2014, he has been interim champ, regular champ and now Super Champ of the WBA in the 105 lbs weight class that he wants to control for the longest possible time, fans wondering who will he fight next, and who could have chance of dethroning him.

Promoter for the fight was Petchyindee Boxing Promotions (a.k.a. Diamond Boxing), live here in the Kingdom of Thailand on True4U Channel 24.
