Super Welterweight prospect Joey Alday (3-0, 3KO) out of Odessa, Texas, takes center stage this Friday night as the main event at The Bomb Factory in Dallas. Alday was signed by Top Rank earlier this year after coming up short in his bid to make the Olympic team in Rio de Janeiro. Alday is guided by Montoya-Ruibal Boxing Management, where Michael Montoya has been a long time fixture in the Dallas boxing scene and runs the Montoya Boxing Gym with his dad and brother. The card is being promoted by Golden Eagle Promotions.

In only his 4th pro fight, Alday will lead a list of top local DFW fighters that include exciting seasoned veterans such as the lightning fast featherweight Ray Ximenez (14-1, 4KO) and the heavy handed light heavyweight Samuel Clarkson (18-3, 11KO) who has upset previous rising contenders on Showtime.

Alday though, is projected to have the biggest upside. At 21, Alday should have every opportunity to one day fight for a world title. He won over 200 fights as an amateur and was ranked the #1 152lber in the USA three years in a row before he missed out on his Olympic dream this past summer. He’s bilingual, English and Spanish, and with the charisma that could potentially make him a household name.

He’s still young and growing into his body so he’s nowhere near the finished product but was still highly sought after before signing with Top Rank, who has been known to move a fighter or two over the years. Alday can’t wait to get back in the ring.

“I’m excited to be fighting in Dallas for my fourth professional fight,” said Alday. “I feel great and extremely confident going into my fight at The Bomb Factory.”

Matching Alday is no easy task and for this show that’s definitely been the case. He has already had three potential opponents fall out due to various reasons such as a broken ankle and another that got jailed so at this time he is fighting an opponent to be named later. He will be fighting as the main event although his fight is a scheduled four rounder.

The co-main event will feature lightweight Alex “El Perro” Del Bosque (11-3, 8KO) who loves to bang the body. He’s a Dallas native that should bring a lively fan base.

Exciting bantamweight Oscar Mojica (9-2, 1KO) who won the WBO NABO bantamweight title against Johnny Determan in January this year only to give it up in June to Antonio Nieves, will look to rebound this Friday against the ever dangerous TBD.

Also showcased on the card is undefeated Dallas welterweight prospect Amon Rashidi (3-0, 2KO) who is a product of the Montoya Boxing Gym. Another Dallas fighter is the crowd pleasing featherweight DeAnthony Bonner (10-2-1, 2KO). Not to be left out in the winter cold, neighboring Fort Worth will showcase super welterweight Jon Bullock (6-3, 2KO) and welterweight Jarvis Shepard (2-0, 2KO) representing the FHG Boxing Gym in separate fights. Other fighters on the card include Mojica’s brother, Freddy, Thomas Smith and Chris Jones
