JAKE AMPARO CHALLENGES WBO WORLD-RANKED GOKI KOBAYASHI TODAY IN KOBE, JAPAN
By Carlos Costa Fightnews ASIA.
Tough Filipino warrior Jake Amparo (13-4-1, 3 KO’s) from the beautiful Island of Bohol fights undefeated, world-ranked Japanese Goki Kobayashi 小林豪己 (6-0, 4 KO’s), in a 12-chapter war for Kobayashi’s WBO Asia Pacific Minimumweight Strap today, Saturday, August 5, in Kobe, Japan.
The hot fight is the 2nd title defense for Goki Kobayashi, as well as his 4th consecutive rumble against a Pinoy fighter.
In his three prior wars against a Filipino, Kobayashi knocked out Leyteño Cris Ganoza (20-5, 10 KO’s) last September, then decisioned Marco John Rementizo (14-4, 11 KO’s) of CDO in December, and finally stopped in four Roslan Eco (10-1, 7 KO’s) of Misamis last May.
Will the Boholano Jake Amparo, 25, be the one to stop that streak, shattering instead Kobayashi’s 6-0 unbeaten record?
Or will the brave Amparo become he 7th scalp for the complicated, hard-hitting 24-year-old Japanese?
The crucial 12-round WBO Asia-Pacific minimumweight title clash is a production of Kobe Promoter Masato Yamashita of Shinsei Promotions.
The show will air LIVE online on U-Next streaming.
May the Best Man Win!
