In front of reported ten thousand enthusiastic boxing fans in a slightly reduced Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and broadcast live in Mexico and Bein Sports in the United States, the first Mexican middleweight champion in history Julio Cesar Chavez Jr made his return after seventeen months out of the ring. Chanvez Jr (50-2-1, 32KO) imposed his will for most of the ten round fight in the super middleweight division over the game Dominik Britsch (32-3-1, 11KO) of Germany and won via unanimous decision with scores of 99-91 three times.

After a cautious first round from both, Chavez Jr went back to the signature punch of the Chavez dynasty, the left hook to the body, and began to pepper them through out the fight along with hard right hands to the head.

Chavez Jr’s best moments were when he would trap the slightly shorter Britsch against the ropes and would go to work with body shots doubled with shots to the head as the German would put up a high guard.

Britsch had his best round in the fifth as he used his jab and foot movement to move along the perimeter of the ring and keep the pressuring Chavez Jr at bay.

The German began to slow down in the second half of the right which gave Chavez Jr to land even more pushing Britsch against the ropes or corners and almost finishing him off with a barrage of punches at least once in every round from the seventh on. Britsch proved his mettle as he was able to survive the power punch onslaught and even give some back of his own even daring to exchange left hooks with Chavez Jr in the eighth.

Chavez Jr tried to give the large crowd what they wanted and finish the fight before the distance but Britsch proved to be too tough.
