Here we are, the first UFC show of 2017! It’s a UFC Fight Night in Phoenix, Arizona, and it marks the return of one B.J. Penn. “The Prodigy” will once again be competing at featherweight, and it’ll be against #10 ranked Yair Rodriguez. The co-main event will be a matchup between two submission specialists, as Marcin Held battles Joe Lauzon.
Rounding out the four-fight main card is a welterweight fight between BE favorite Ben Saunders and Court McGee, and a flyweight bout between John Moraga and Sergio Pettis. In case you missed the news, Jimmie Rivera is off the card.
This should be a card that draws good TV ratings, as it will be promoted on the NFL on FOX divisional game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys, which kicks off at 4:35 PM ET. Essentially, it’s a lead-in to the FS1 broadcast.
