This is the recipe on becoming a professional boxing champ. Rodel has it set up with his assistant Stanly Godinez.It starts with an early 5 to 7 mile 6 am run at the Pan Pacific of Los Angeles on every Monday, Wednesday and fridays.A few minutes of rest then a tough 1,000 sit ups for the upper , lower abdomen and obliques. A short break thensprinting for quick recuperation when there is a transfer of energy from the fist to ones head.Rodel said that the second part of training is going to the Wild Card Gym after an hour break for their regulated proteinand carbohydrate diet. Bananas are also needed to decrease the build up lactic acid in the muscles. Lactic acid is thepain you feel when your muscles are tired. The gym is where the fighter do their Mitt work and sparring. The amount ofrounds depends on when the fight is gonna be. 2 Months before the fight only needs about 4 rounds of sparring and willincrese to about 8 to 10 rounds a month before the fight. Rodel said that there is no sparring a week before the fight and thatit is very important that a fighter should not over train. Over training will only lead to a burned out fighter and lack of energy.Adenosine Triphosphate will be cycled incorrectly. Glycolysis will also go through incorrect steps which is the breakdown ofsugar in ones anatomy. Only mitt work, dieting and easy cardio to make the weight.On opposite days which are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays will have the grueling run at the famous Griffith Park.This the cross country place is where our champ Manny Pacquiao also uses for his cardiovascular workout. Once again itconsist of the 5 to 7 mile run up and down the hills. 1000 sit ups again then back to the Wild Card gym for mitt work andsparring then 1,000 more sit ups to end the day. Now that we are physically and mentally knowledgeable about his routinewe can now enter into his world of boxing.Rodel Mayol was the former WBC champion of the world from 2009 thru 2011. He took over the belt by defeating a Mexican champwho held the belt for ten years. He defeated the reigning champ of Mexico in 2 rounds in the flyweight division. His record is31 wins, 22 ko’s 5 losses and 2 draws. He was successful under the guidance of Jesus Arevalo, Buboy Fernandez and Nonoy Neri.His manager during his championship career was Jinkee Pacquiao.Rodel finds happiness by turning contenders into champions. He has trained Aston Palicte who is now the new WBO NABF super flyweightchampion of the world. He is known as Aston Mighty Palicte from Bago city, Philippines. He did this by defeating Oscar Cantu in Las Vegas.His record is 22 wins, 2 losses and 0 draws.Another student in his class is the former UFC light weight champion. He has 25 wins and 9 losses in the mixed martial artsarena. Rodel trained Dos Anjos in boxing and was suppose to compete with Connor McGregor but got injured during MMA training.The third boxer that improved on his fighting skills is Al Rivera. He successfully defended the OPBF lightweight champion in thePhilippines with a record of 17 wins, 2 losses, 0 draws and 15 ko’s.One of the upcoming prospect with heavy hands in the feather weight division is Romero Duno. The 21 year old puncher is fromTaguig city. Duno has a record of 12 wins, 1 loss and 11 ko’s. Rodel said that he is working on Duno’s balance and footwork to enhancehis boxing skills. He is definitely on his way on becoming one of the greats that our country will produce with the help of Batang Mandaue.
