Moises “Chucky” Flores of Mexico retained his WBA interim super bantamweight belt and won the IBO super bantamweight belt, with a twelve round unanimous points decision over Namibia’s Paulus “The Rock” Ambunda at the Ramatex Factory in Windhoek, Namibia on Saturday night. Flores, 29, who fights out Guadalajara, Jalisco won with scores of 115-112, 115-110 and 114-111 against the gutsy 35-year-old Ambunda (24-2, 10 KOs), a former WBO bantamweight champion. The Mexican using his height and reach advantages had Ambunda down in rounds one, six and seven. Ambunda made a late rally in the last three rounds but this was not enough as the Mexican was a comfortable winner at the end. Flores (26-0, 17 KOs) is now hoping to challenge the WBA super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux of Cuba.

The main supporting bout between Paulus Moses of Namibia and Thompson Mokwana of South Africa for the WBO Africa interim lightweight title ended in a no contest after an accidental clash of heads in the first round.

Sakaria Lukas of Namibia beat Tanzanian Mohamed Mutumla on a fourth round stoppage to win the WBO Africa interim featherweight title.

Sacky Shikukutu scored a unanimous 12 round points decision over Jason Bedeman in a clash for the WBO Africa interim welterweight title. The scores were 119-108, 117-10 and 117-109.
