Mundine-Green II, PBC, more: Boxing fight times and TV schedule for February 2-4

It’s back to a bit of a slow week for the sport, but with some fights on the schedule.

Thursday, February 2

FS1, 8:00 pm ET, Sammy Vasquez vs Luis Collazo, Yordenis Ugas vs Levan Ghvamichava, Ryan Karl vs Eddie Ramirez. Ignore the fact that the PBC folks couldn’t bother to get Collazo’s name right on the banner image, this isn’t a bad card. Vasquez-Collazo is a fight to maintain some semblance of relevance at 147. Ugas is coming off of back-to-back prospect bustings of Jamal James and Bryant Perrella. And Ryan “Cowboy” Karl is a wildly entertaining brawler who’s taking on a fellow unbeaten. BLH will have live coverage.

Friday, February 3

Main Event PPV (AUS), 3:00 am ET, Anthony Mundine vs Danny Green II. We’re going to try to have live coverage of this, since, well, I’m intrigued, a little bit, because despite the fact that neither man has much of anything left in the ring, it’s a genuine grudge match, and they’re at equal points shot, so in a roundabout way it remains “well matched.” That said, reports are that this has not generated buzz even in Australia, where their first fight was a major event. I don’t know if that’s entirely true or not, as I am not Australian. BLH may have live coverage.

TyC Sports (ARG), 10:00 pm ET, Luis Ernesto Rueda vs Jonathan Jose Eniz.

UniMás, 11:00 pm ET, Felix Verdejo vs Oliver Flores. Verdejo’s first fight since June, as he returns from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. He looked sensational that last time out, turning up the heat and thrashing Juan Jose Martinez. We’ll see how he does in this return. He’s tentatively slated for an HBO date on June 10, barring any setbacks here. BLH will have live coverage.
