It goes without saying that UFC 208 was heavy on decisions. Apart from Ronaldo Souza’s rather predictable submission win over Tim Boetsch, every other fight on Saturday’s card went the distance, including the controversial main event between Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie.
De Randamie won the UFC women’s featherweight championship with a unanimous decision over Holm, with all three judges scoring 48-47 in the Dutchwoman’s favor. Of course, the real sticking point was that referee Todd MacDonald didn’t deduct a point for de Randamie’s illegal shots after the horn at the ends of rounds 2 and 3. As for the actual scoring, the judges only unanimously agreed that de Randamie won rounds 1 and 3, while Holm unanimously took round 5.
Here are the FightMetric statistics, and worth noting that Holm was not credited for knockdowns for the question mark kick in round 3 of the left hand she landed in the final round.
