Two Star Boxing fighters from Long Island, light heavyweight Joe “The Irish Bomber” Smith Jr. and super lightweight Cletus “The Hebrew Hammer” Seldin will see action in separate main events.

On Saturday night, the little-known Smith (21-1, 17 KOs) makes his national television debut against the world rated “The Polish Prince” Andrzej Fonfara (28-3, 16 KOs), when they collide in a 10-round main event on NBC from UIC Pavilion in Chicago. The WBC #2, WBA #3, WBO #4 rated Fonfara is about a 30:1 favorite in the fight, but Smith’s promoter Joe DeGuardia has high hopes saying “I expect big things from Joe Smith Jr.”
