UFC Fight Night 90 turned out to be a whole lot of bang for the Fightpass buck. The card delivered a whopping 8 finishes out of 12 fights, with 6 of those finishes being by way of submission. There wasn’t a boring fight on the entire card, and it even ended with a title changing hands.

Of the 4 decisions, there was one standout that resulted in fight of the night honors. Alan Jouban vs. Belal Muhammad was an all-out war from start to finish, complete with a few knockdowns, some wild haymakers, two men that happen to have Adamantium in their skulls, and a willingness to stand and bang during the final minutes of the fight. The great Jim Ross would have deemed this bout a slobberknocker of the highest order.

Unfortunately, there are drawbacks to fights like these (concussive injuries, bone breaks, torn ligaments/cartilage/muscles), and for Jouban, aka the best looking man with his eyes swollen nearly shut, a bone break (or two) would be a parting gift, courtesy of the fight gods.

During his post-fight interview, he mentioned that he thought his hand had been broken in the second round, and after a visit to the hospital and some X-Rays, it was proven that he was right. FOX Sports anchor, Karyn Bryant, who also happens to be Alan’s podcast co-host, posted a photo of his X-Ray that clearly shows not one, but two breaks in his left hand.

Jouban and Muhammad both walked away with a cool $50K for their efforts. Hopefully Alan has a seamless healing process and recovery.
