A heavyweight tilt between Travis Browne and Oleksiy Oliynyk has been added to UFC 213.
Travis Browne will look to snap a three-fight losing streak on July 8th, as MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani reported earlier in the week that “Hapa” is set to face Oleksiy Oliynyk at UFC 213 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Browne (18-6-1) is without a win since a controversial, eye-poke aided TKO over Matt Mitrione in January 2016. He was dominated by Cain Velasquez at UFC 200, then lost by unanimous decision to Fabricio Werdum at UFC 203, and most recently suffered a brutal KO loss to Derrick Lewis at UFC Halifax in February.
Oliynyk (51-10-1) bounced back from a loss to Daniel Omielanczuk by sensationally submitting Viktor Pesta with the first Ezekiel choke in UFC history. It’s not everyday that you see a fighter submit his opponent while being fully mounted. The 39-year-old holds a 3-1 record inside the Octagon and has won 12 of his last 13.
UFC 213 does not have a main event yet, but will feature a co-main between bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt and former champion T.J. Dillashaw.
