It’s a busy month for Bellator as for the second weekend in a row, they present an international double-header. This weekend, it’s Bellator 177 and Bellator Kickboxing 6 from Budapest, Hungary on Friday night. Bellator Kickboxing will air on tape delay on Spike TV at approximately 11:00 p.m. ET this Friday, April 14 following Bellator 177. Here’s a look at the complete card for Bellator Kickboxing 6:

Welterweight Title: Zoltan Laszak (83-2-2) vs. Karim Ghajji (23-5-1) – This fight is a rematch from September, when Laszak defeated Ghajji to take the title. Ghajji became the inaugural champion last April, claiming one of the only two titles Bellator Kickboxing has so far established. Ghajji is a well travelled veteran, with over 10 years fight experience. The French fighter has competed all over the world, including Glory, but has been focused on Bellator lately. He’s also an accomplished breakdancer and B-Boy known as gadjetboy, and brings some of that flash into the ring. Laszak, despite being the world champion, is not a particularly well known fighter. He made an impression with that win, using a pressure style to take the fight to Ghajji. I’m not sure that he truly belongs in the discussion of the world’s top Welterweights, but he also looks to have the right style for Ghajji, so I look for him to retain here in another close fight.

Joe Schilling (20-9) vs. Alexandru Negrea (9-2) – Schilling is arguably the biggest name fighter in Bellator Kickboxing, thanks largely to his high-profile run in Glory and his time in Bellator MMA. The Muay Thai fighter has had times of great success in his career, including wins over Artem Levin and Simon Marcus. But it’s been a rough road lately, as he’s 1-2 in Bellator MMA and on a 1-2 run in kickboxing. Those 4 combined losses include a pair of KOs against Hisaki Kato, one in MMA, one in kickboxing. He needs a win here – badly. Negrea has experience in Superkombat, but he’s definitely here to be a win for Schilling. Still, nothing’s a guarantee with Schilling these days.

Raymond Daniels (10-3) vs. Csaba Gyorfi (20-5) – Raymond Daniels is known for his wild highlight reel KO’s, particularly his spinning 2014 KO of Francois Ambang that will be on highlight clips forever. He’s a whirling dervish of a fighter, using his traditional martial arts background to befuddle opponents before putting them away, almost always in highly entertaining fashion. His only losses come against really skilled technicians who know how to handle his style. Bellator has been building him up and gone pretty easy on him so far, and this fight is no different. I really hope they pull the trigger on him and have him challenge the main event winner next time.

Jorina Baars (40-0-3) vs. Irene Martens (20-9-2) – Baars is an undefeated Dutch Muay Thai champion with a lot of great experience, but really, you only need to know one thing about her. In March 2014, she defeated Cris Cyborg under Muay Thai rules – the only blemish on Cyborg’s record outside of her 2005 professional MMA debut. That should tell you something about the credientials Baars brings to Bellator. Her opponent her is not a bad fighter by any means, but provided Baars can make the sometimes tricky adjustment to the kickboxing ruleset, she should be a real force in Bellator.

Gabriel Varga (13-4) vs. Gabor Gorbics (30-10) – This is the Bellator debut of Varga, the former two-time Glory Featherweight champion. Varga had a great run in Glory, though it didn’t end well, with him taking a tough loss to Robin van Roosmalen in October. Varga is a very good technical fighter, but he’s also a fighter who often slows things down to make the fight a bit of a herky-jerky affair. It’s telling that he has just one official KO on his record. Still, he’s a true world class talent, and a great pick-up for Bellator. Gorbics is more of a boxer who holds a pro boxing record of 23-6 – no notable wins in that 23. This is Varga’s fight to lose.
