TYSON FURY ANTI-DOPING HEARING STILL ONGOING

British heavyweight Tyson Fury attended a U.K. anti-doping hearing in London on Monday but is still no further forward in regards to the future of his boxing career.

Fury, THE RING champion, flew in from Marbella, Spain, to address claims that he had used a banned anabolic steroid, Nandrolone, in 2015. A final ruling was anticipated, however, due to the “complex” nature of the case, more time is required.

As a result, the British Boxing Board of Control is in no position to consider Fury’s application for a boxing license until these proceedings are closed.

“It’s been adjourned to carry on later,” BBBoC secretary Robert Smith told Sky Sports in the U.K. “It’s still ongoing and when (U.K.A.D.) are in a position to give us any more information, they will.

“I’m not surprised, it’s not unusual, it’s obviously a complex case. I will expect a decision when I’m given it.”

As Smith alluded to, there is no time frame and it’s essentially a waiting game for Team Fury.

“We want to see the end of this,” Frank Warren, Fury’s promoter, told Press Association. “It’s gone on and on. It’s been over their heads for two years. It reflects badly on UKAD; it’s taken all this time to get there and in the meantime, there’s no outcome. This is crazy.

“It’s people’s lives on hold, and it’s wrong.”

Fury has been training alongside WBO middleweight titleholder Billy Joe Saunders and remains hopeful of a July 8 return.
