Tonight at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN, prospects Sergey Lipinets and Tugstsogt Nyambayar are in action.
PBC returns to ESPN this evening with a doubleheader featuring two good prospects, junior welterweight Sergey Lipinets (9-0, 7 KO) and featherweight Tugstsogt Nyambayar (5-0, 5 KO) in a pair of fights set for 10 rounds.
In the main event, Lipinets will face Nicaragua’s Walter Castillo (26-3-1, 19 KO), a 27-year-old veteran coming off of a draw against Keita Obara in an IBF eliminator last November. In April 2015, he was beaten handily by Amir Imam over 10 rounds, and defeated Ammeth Diaz between those two bouts. Lipinets, also 27, is coming off of a fifth round knockout of Levan Ghvamachiva in March.
Nyambayar, 24, won an Olympic silver medal in 2012 representing Mongolia, and turned pro in March 2015. He was one of the most exciting fighters to watch four years ago in London, and his pro career has kicked off on that same note, not once going past the fourth round thus far. His opponent will be Rafael Vazquez (16-2, 13 KO), a 38-year-old Brooklyn club fighter born in Puerto Rico. Vazquez lost his last fight in October 2015, but was fairly competitive in defeat against Ryan Kielczewski.
