This June 3 at the Sports Palace of Rostov-na-Donu, Russia, 31-year-old Dmitry Kudryashov (20-1-0, 20 КО) fights Olanrewaju Durodola (24-3-0, 22 КО ) with the World Boxing Council silver cruiserweight belt on the line.
The saga between Kudryashov and Duradola began in November 2015. At that time not many could predict how this rivalry would develop and what emotions it would arouse.
Kudryashov lost the fight by TKO in round 2. Later the doping test sample provided by the Nigerian showed a positive result. However after an investigation, the WBC absolved Duradola.
Now their paths cross again. Kudryashov had few problems during previous fights. Since 2014 he has been defeating dangerous opponents like Juan Carols Gómez and Francisco Palacios who only survived for 74 seconds in total between them in their fights against “The Hammer.”
Vikapita Meroro was able to stay in the fight until round six and only due to his prudent rather cautious tactics. Kudryashov has learned a lot since that fight. The last fights of Kudryashov also concluded by KO, over Julius Ceasar Dos Santos and Santander Silgado.
Duradola, like Kudryashov, has power in his fists. Duradola participated in the Olympic Games of Beijing. In January 2014 he earned the right to challenge NABF champion Tobisio Mchunu, losing on the cards. Duradola had four victorious bouts, and helped Denis Lebedev to prepare for his fight against Youri Kalenga.
