Ramos looks sharp in TKO win over Paredes

Lightweight Casey “The Wizard” Ramos (22-0, 6 KOs) of Austin, Texas, remained unbeaten with a fifth round TKO over Hardy Paredes (18-13, 11 KOs) of Chile on Saturday night at the Pioneer Event Center in Lancaster, California. Paredes was credited with a knockdown in round two when he cuffed Ramos around the neck and threw him down. In round three, Paredes turned away after a headbutt and was promptly knocked down by Ramos. Ramos pummeled Paredes after that, and Paredes finally turned away in round five prompting a referee’s stoppage. Time was :58.

Unbeaten super middleweight Ulises Sierra (10-0-2, 6 KOs), of San Diego, needed just 28 seconds to demolish local favorite Jose Hernandez (12-2-1, 4 KOs) in a clash for the California State 168lb title.

Unbeaten welterweight Arnold Barboza Jr (13-0, 4 KOs) of South El Monte, California, dominated Texan Jon David Charles (9-8, 1 KO) over six rounds. Scores were 60-54 across the board.

Unbeaten 2008 and 2012 Olympian welterweight Egidijus Kavaliauskas (14-0, 12 KOs) of Lithuania scored a third round KO over Paterson, New Jersey’s Jeremy Bryant (17-7, 7 KOs). A Kavaliauskas left hook finished Bryant.

Unbeaten Top Rank super lightweight Maxim Dadashev moved to 3-0, 3 KOs with a fourth round TKO over Jason Gavino (3-3, 2 KOs).
