Unbeaten flyweight Muhammad Waseem (4-0, 3 KOs) of Pakistan completely dominated former world title challenger Jether Oliva (23-6-2, 11 KOs) of the Philippines on Sunday at the Millennium Seoul Hilton, Grand Ballroom Hotel in Seoul, South Korea. It was huge step up in class for Waseem ,where he nearly shut out Oliva over 12 rounds to claim the WBC “silver” title. The official judges scores were 120-112 twice and 119-113. It was recently announced that WBC flyweight champion Ramon Gonzalez is moving up to challenge WBC super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras September 10th. This news is of major interest to Waseem’s promoter Andy Kim of AK Promotions. “Huge win today for Waseem. I am very proud and happy for him. We are a step closer to our goal of him becoming a world champion. We definitely want to be in that world title mix should Gonzalez vacate,” said Kim.
