Welterweight strikers Thiago Alves and Mike Perry are targeted to meet in Seattle.
A pair of welterweight sluggers have agreed to meet in Seattle. MMA Fighting reports veteran Thiago Alves will take on up-and-coming Mike Perry at UFC 215.
Trying to begin a new win streak after his unanimous decision win over Patrick Cote in April, Thiago Alves (22-11) snapped a two-fight losing skid, with losses to Jim Miller and Carlos Condit. Alves has not won more than two fights in a row since a 2006-2008 run when he was only stopped by then champion, Georges St-Pierre.
Mike Perry (10-1) also looks to start his own streak. After losing a decision to Alan Jouban in December 2016, Perry followed it up with a KO of Jake Ellenberger in April. All of Perry’s 10 wins have come by way of KO. He also finished Hyun Gyu Lin and Danny Roberts in his UFC career.
Mike Perry is expected to meet Thiago Alves at UFC 215, which is rumored to take place in Seattle and to be headlined by flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson.
