Lando Vannata has a new opponent for UFC 216.
Originally booked to face Abel Trujillo at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, the fight nicknamed “Groovy” will now take on Bobby Green on Oct. 7, the UFC announced Monday. The promotion didn’t reveal the reason behind the change.
reen (23-8) last competed in April, losing his third in a row against Rashid Magomedov. His previous UFC defeats came by the hands of Edson Barboza and Dustin Poirier.
Vannata (9-2) also has his back against the wall after a decision loss to David Teymur in March. Vannata went 1-1 in the Octagon in 2016, scoring an epic knockout over John Makdessi after a back-and-forth defeat to Tony Ferguson.
The UFC has yet to announce which fight will headline UFC 216 in Las Vegas.
