Two of the UFC’s longest tenured lightweights will finally share the Octagon.
On Monday, the promotion announced that Joe Lauzon and Clay Guida are booked to fight at UFC Fight Night 120 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va. on Nov. 11.
This meeting features a pair of MMA lifers with a combined 90 professional bouts between them, including 24 apiece in the UFC. Lauzon is 14-10 as a UFC lightweight, while Guida is 13-11 in the promotion splitting time between the 155-pound and 145-pound division.
The 33-year-old Lauzon has alternated wins and losses in his past eight appearances, losing a majority decision to Stevie Ray in his most recent outing in April. “J-Lau” has a reputation as one of the UFC’s most consistently entertaining performers, having netted 15 fight night performance bonuses, tied with Nate Diaz for the most in company history.
Guida is no slouch in the bonus department either. He has been part of six Fight of the Night winning bouts and also won three Submission of the Night bonuses. The 35-year-old recently returned from a 3-4 featherweight stint to defeat Erik Koch in a lightweight bout by unanimous decision this past June.
A main event has not been officially named for UFC Fight Night 120.
